ARE YOUR PATTERNS EASY TO FOLLOW?
Yes they are very easy to follow! They are not abreviated and are written in a "stitch by stitch" format. All patterns use only the Double Crochet stitch with the exception of the borders (edges). There I get alittle fancier.
DO YOU GIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON LEARNING TO CROCHET?
No. I will give you basic instructions on how to do my technique and in following my patterns. I will give you tips on making your work neater. All you need to follow my patterns is the most basic of crochet skills. If you purchase one of my easy to do patterns and have trouble I will do my best to assist you (just email me).
CAN YOUR AFGHANS BE MADE INTO LARGER SIZES?
Yes. I can make the afghans larger and can also modify the patterns to make larger sizes. You will need to contact me in these matters so arrangements can be made.
WHY ARE THE AFGHANS SO SMALL?
Well...I thought they made great baby blankets. They are soft warm and cute. The multiple textures and "add-on" pieces are great for stimulating babies interest. Plus some of the yarn used can get alittle expensive and making them smaller cuts down on the cost. It also makes it easier to manage washing them as large crocheted afghans get very heavy when wet. Even the small sizes are nice for adults when just relaxing on the couch.
ARE THE AFGHANS WASHABLE?
As with any handmade crocheted item special care is needed for washing. I have blankets I have thrown in the washer and dryer with no problems. However, I recommend spot or hand washing in cold water and lay flat to dry. If you purchase the kit or patterns and make them yourself, you will need to follow the washing instructions on the label of the yarn YOU are using. If you purchase a completed afghan I will enclose washing instructions with each one.
ARE THE YARN AMOUNTS LISTED IN THE PATTERNS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED?
They are approximate. Everyone crochets alittle differently. My daughter for example crochets very tight and would use less yarn than I, as I crochet alittle looser. Keep in mind the type or texture of yarn may make a difference in the amount used as well as affecting the finished size of the item. I suggest buying alittle extra, just in case.
CAN I USE ANY TYPE OF YARN?
Sure! Each pattern comes with a yarn list that I prefer, however feel free to use whatever color and style yarn you prefer!
WHERE DO THE PATTERNS COME FROM?
I designed them! (Of course God created the original animals or other subject that inspired me). All of these patterns are original designs and they make beautiful and unique gifts. You can give either the pattern or a kit to a loved one who crochets or the finished Afghan. They are sure to be pleased!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE ONE?
Well...that is alittle harder to answer. Everyone will crochet at a different speed. Even I have moments of high speed or slow (usually depending on the music playing). Most of these patterns take between 30 to 40 hours or more to make (usually more).
WHAT PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
I will accept the 4 major credit cards as well as Pay Pal. If you need to make other arrangements, such as pay by check, contact me through email and I will see what I can do. My payment processor is Pay Pal for all major credit cards. You will need to enter your information twice (don't fear you will be charged only once!). That is the way Pay Pal works. Through much research I was most confident of using them. Their security is unsurpassed, and their customer service was exceptional.
